Located in Western Himachal region, Dharamshala is a prominent name in Buddhist tour to the state, as the home of Dalai Lama and all the Tibetans in exile. It is a well-known center for studying Buddhism, its sutras, tantras, and major texts related to this.

March to mid-July: If you are looking to beat the scorching summer heat, then March to about mid-July is just the time to go. Summer months are perfect for a trip to the hills when the temperatures range somewhere between 22°C and 35°C.

Is it good to visit Dharamshala now?
Both the winter and summer seasons are the best time to visit Dharamshala. While in summer, tourists can enjoy paragliding and trekking, the winter season allows pleasant weather. March through June is the most popular time to visit Dharamshala.

In Dharamsala, the summers are long, warm, wet, and mostly clear and the winters are short, cold, and partly cloudy. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 36°F to 86°F and is rarely below 30°F or above 93°F.

Clothes to Pack for Dharamshala Trip. Carry warm clothes no matter what time of year you are traveling. Also, dress in layers so that you can put on or take off a layer when the temperature changes suddenly. In winter especially, thermal wear and heavy jackets are a must.
